Fewer Home Sellers Cut Asking Prices for Homes in January 2010 | RISMedia
RISMEDIA, February 12, 2010—Just over 40% of available homes for sale had reduced prices in January 2010, compared with 44% in December 2009, according to a monthly survey of home listings in 27 markets conducted by the national real estate brokerage ZipRealty.
With fewer reduced price homes available in January, sellers were able to ask for their original list prices, rather than cut them to attract buyers.
“Sellers are taking a realistic look at current market conditions before listing their homes,” said ZipRealty CEO Pat Lashinsky. “We have a lot fewer homes for sale right now than we did last year, and we are seeing more sellers sticking to their original list prices, rather than cutting them to try to attract buyers.”

NASHVILLE — Over-the-road truckers have voted Interstate 40 in Tennessee the best stretch of highway in the country.
It's the fourth straight year the section has been so honored in a survey of truck owners and operators by Overdrive Magazine.
Criteria included road quality, smoothness of the riding surface, road markings and construction detour availability. More than 300 truck drivers were surveyed.
Additionally, Tennessee roads overall were rated third best in the country for the 11th straight year.

Hendersonville Chamber

We 'Moo'ved to the Farm...Kennesaw Farms!
The last couple of weeks have been very busy and exciting around here at Southeastern. Last week we moved our offices to the old mansion (The Baber House) at Kennesaw Farms. We have been anticipating this move for some time now. What a great location for us to be in the middle of all the happenings and no one could ask for a more beautiful office- this old house is gorgeous!
Our offices are now located on the second floor and we will continue to rent out the down stairs for weddings and parties. You can learn more about the Baber House at www.thebaberhouse.com.
Enjoy the photos from our office christening last week. In keeping with the tradition of launching a new ship we broke a bottle of champagne on the back stairs and toasted to our new move. This new move was definitely Southeastern's Christmas present this year!
